Waterford’s Best Gym

Waterford's best gym winners; Raise The Bar Tramore

Thursday the 9th of June was a memorable day at Raise The Bar as we were crowned Waterford’s best gym for as part of the “Best of Waterford” initiative by WLR FM and localheroes.ie in Kilmacthomas, Co. Waterford. It was a brilliant evening and thanks to everyone who organised the event, the food was amazing by the way!

On stage I was asked something along the lines of “how important is this award to Raise The Bar”. Surprisingly for someone who talks a lot in front of people I had a mild version of stage fright and can’t really remember how I answered it but I want to do a better account of the true answer with this blog post.

Waterford’s Best Gym means a hell of a lot to us coaches at Raise The Bar. To know that our members voted for us, and it wasn’t a case of “who you know” makes it even better. To see our members, take time to vote was truly aspiring. We thank you all and are forever grateful for making our jobs so enjoyable. We are nearing three years of business, and this was undoubtedly the highlight.

It’s probably the best example that our methods and approach to training is giving our members the results they want. We pride ourselves on the results our members get. Our primary role as coaches is to improve the health and fitness of our members, so if our members aren’t improving, we as coaches take it personally. We want everyone to improve, and everyone who follows our advice normally does! We are full of self-doubt like everyone else and to know that our service is providing value to our customers is hugely satisfying. We will continue to get better as coaches to provide you with the results you deserve.

It also highlights the community aspect of Raise The Bar that is starting to gather momentum. Walk into the gym during a group or semi-private session and you are guaranteed to see people laughing and conversing about the latest match or local event. This was always something we wanted but never forced. Culture has become the buzz word of late but we feel its something that can’t be forced. Get the right people to do the right things for long enough and good culture is the by product. Creating a good culture can sometimes be false when pushed too eagerly but , we let this build organically and it has truly become a great place for absolutely anyone to train.

Results and community is what Raise The Bar has become. A place where anyone can come to train and get the results they deserve, and feel comfortable doing so. As owners, we are damn proud of this.

And the winner for Waterford’s Best Gym for 2022 is…. Raise The Bar Training Systems.

Its got a nice ring to it.

Thank you to everyone that voted. We are truly grateful and will continue to work hard to give you the results you deserve.
